the mystery of dinner

I am officially in the worst dinner making rut I have ever had in our almost 5 years of cohabitation. Honestly, I dropped the ball a few weeks ago, but the past 2 weeks have been an absolute joke.

I don't want to make anything, ever. I am so sick of all the tried and true favorites, and recently Danny has shot down 2 of my go to "easy and painless" options.

If anyone has any suggestions, please tell me before my husband leaves me! (jk!)

  1. I hear you!! I have been trying soooo hard since the beginning of the year to cook atleast 4-5 nights a week. I'm LOVING the "Keeping Up" Cookbook (the followup to Favorites). I like nearly everything I make from it. I just bought the "Our Best Bites" cookbook and am loving it too. If you want to borrow either to peruse, just let me know. My new favorite cooking blog: melskitchencafe.com Awesome recipes and she tries really hard to make healthier choices and avoid crappy ingredients. :)

  2. I second each of Kim's recommendations. I also love RealSimple's recipes-easy and tasty, and relatively healthy!

We have a cookbook called How to Cook Everything by Mark Bittman and it's our absolute fav. It has simple explanations behind lots of food basics. Once you get those down (or refer back to the cookbook) you can get creative. I've never been disappointed with the recipes in that one m

    Good luck!
