lately....

We went to a superbowl party, can you believe it? It was hosted by our friends Mary and Chris, whom we met at Jane and Visnu's wedding. So, most of the people that went to Thailand were there. It was a ton of fun to see them all.

We all want to go on another trip together, since we did so well the first time around, and as strangers! We'll see....

Megan and Moustafa brought this apple pie, it was to die for. I almost died from the gluten after eating 2 slices, but it was worth it.

I've been working on new outfits and hairstyles for my dolls, what do you think??

Teeny tiny bunny! This is the Miss Maggie Rabbit pattern, but half size!

Size comparison.

I've sent the quilts off for quilting, can you tell? I can't wait to finish them, so I'm biding my time making lots of tiny things.

See? I'm obsessed with tiny things right now.

These are for Lindsay loo's American Girl doll. Her birthday is in May, so I've been making lots of doll clothes for her. Aren't these tiny Toms so cute?

all together now

Danny's sisters Chelsea and Lindsay come to visit us! We don't have a lot of room for guests but....

...luckily they act like twins, (they are 2 years apart) so sleeping together on our air mattress on the floor of my sewing room wasn't a problem.

Have you played Cards Against Humanity? OMG it's so hilarious. All four of us played for hours and laughed and laughed.

The next day we set out into the city.

I had some cereal for breakfast and then I got the worst case of the hiccups. The girls thought it was pretty funny (I guess it is if you aren't me) and before we left, I guzzled a bunch of water (I get so thirsty walking around if I don't) anyway all if this seemingly pointless information will be relevant soon.

We parked the car and went to the mall. The girls got something to drink at the Nordstrom cafe, and we decided what to do first. We walked to the train, took it one stop, them walked to the Asian Art Museum. When we were about a block away, I started coughing, like I had something in my throat. It got worse and worse as we approached the museum, when were right out front, I went to ask Chels if I could have a sip of her drink and...

... it went something like this: I said "Could I have a BLERGGGGBARRRRRFFFF" as I coughed again and I barfed right into my hands.

I BARFED IN MY HANDS PEOPLE. IN PUBLIC.

Another one came right after- I ran to the little stone wall in front of the grass as I barfed again. I heard a chorus of "ewwwwwwww!" and as I looked up, I saw a group of schoolkids lunching on the lawn. Not ten feet in front of me. Luckily, (for me, not them) what I barfed was mostly water, but my hands were icky. The girls were understandably freaked. I asked Linds to go into the museum and get me some paper towels.

Those poor kids! As I cleaned up I would glance at them- there were glares. We bought our tickets to get in and I cleaned up in the bathroom.

Ok, so I hate barfing. Like even if I have food poisoning, I WILL NOT BARF even if it will make me feel better. So this was the strangest thing to happen! I'm guessing that from all the hiccuping, I got an air bubble that was then layered with water, so when I coughed- blammo.

So.... on to the fun stuff!

It was an amazing display! The girls loved it, and got some miniature clay warriors to take home.

We walked up to Chinatown next.

Chels at the gate....

....and later, Linds in the Castro!

Over the next few days we had lots of adventures.

I loooooved waking up to these two chatting, singing while getting ready, asking outfit advice and acting so much like twins. I've missed them sooo much! And Danny just loved having his sisters here when he got home from work.

We drove out to San Jose to tour the infamous Winchester Mystery House.

It was so neat!

From the wiki:

In a Discovery Channel account, "She believed her only chance of a normal life was to build a house, and keep building it. If the house was never finished, no ghost could settle into it. The house contains many features that were utilized to trap or confuse spirits. There are doors that are small or lead nowhere and windows that look into other parts of the house. The mansion may be huge but there are only two mirrors in the whole place. This is because Sarah believed that ghosts were afraid of their own reflection."
Winchester inherited more than $20.5 million upon her husband's death. She also received nearly fifty percent ownership of the Winchester Repeating Arms Company, giving her an income of roughly $1,000 per day, equivalent to about $30,000 a day in 2012. These inheritances gave her a tremendous amount of wealth to fund the ongoing construction.

Can you even imagine having $30,000 a day to spend????

The cobwebbed bathroom windows. Most of the stained glass windows in the house are Tiffany!

The interior of the house is owned by some movie studio so it's copyrighted blah blah blah so you can't take any photos. But you can take them of the outside, so ok.

I was kind of dying that I couldn't take photos inside! It was so cool. Maybe you guys should change that, mmmmmkay?

The door to nowhere.

A collection of old flashlights.

Of course we had to take them to eat tacos at Papito!

Chels was super excited for clam chowder at Fisherman's wharf.

Linds and I had In n Out. We're not seafood people!

jet lag

 photo IMG_9076_zpsa8457417.jpg
I found some baht leftover from our trip. Colorful money is so much fun!

I am a candy hoarder. Those little gummy cone thingies were amazing, and that Royce chocolate is to die for. Asians know how to do sugar.

 photo IMG_9081_zpse5edbb21.jpg
From scratch biscuit breakfast sandwiches FTW. Not nearly as good as Pine State, but I'll take it.

 photo IMG_9084_zps3adedb0b.jpg
I can't sleep. So I'm gonna fix this crazy mess.

 photo IMG_9087_zps5db01873.jpg
Much better, but that didn't take long...

 photo IMG_9089_zpsded76f0a.jpg
I guess I'll eat cereal while Danny sleeps. Man, I hope this doesn't last long!

I went to quietly get a Dr Pepper out of the fridge, since I'll be up all night I might as well be productive. I'm lazy so I just stick the whole 6 pack of bottles in the fridge when I come home from the store.

So when I want one I have to cut that stupid plastic ring to free it from the others. Well, while trying to be super quiet, I pierced the damn bottle and it sprayed everywhere. All over the fridge, the floor, until I wrangled it into the sink, hole side down. I thought for sure I'd woken Danny, but thankfully I didn't.

Sometimes living in a loft isn't the greatest. But I got a lot of sewing done!
